Riverview Curling Club is proud to be apart of the Special Olympics!  Every season we welcome back many curling leagues to our ice including the Special Olympics League; they are apart of our sport, our community, our curling family and we are so happy to have them here!  So happy, it is no surprise that we are excited to learn a BRANDON RINK is a part of the Manitoba Provincial Team and is off to NATIONALS in Calgary in 2024!!  Way to go!!

At this time the rink is looking for some funding assistance to help get to nationals.  Please see below from the local Brandon Coach, if you are interested in giving please click the link included below or contact coach Jodee directly at 204-573-3548.  Let’s help get this rink to Calgary!

Special Olympics Manitoba is part of a global movement of inclusion and we are dedicated to enriching the lives of Manitobans with an intellectual disability through the transformative power of sport.

In 2023 the National Special Olympics Canada Winter Games  will be held in  Calgary from February 27 – March 2, 2024, there are 58 athletes representing Manitoba, 5 of them are from Brandon. Competing in the sport of curling is Devin Leadbeater, Scott Madder, Tyler Yurchuk, Sandra Revet and Glen Skayman, along with coaches Jodee Webster, Gina Rank and Mission Staff Charles Tweed.

This is a premier national event that will welcome over 1200 athletes, coaches and mission staff from across the country to compete against one another in 8 sports in the hopes of qualifying for Team Canada and the chance to compete at the 2025 World Winter Games in Italy.

The Brandon athletes are actively looking for sponsorship and donations for our 5 Brandon so they may have this once in a lifetime experience.  The cost to send one of our Provincial Team athletes to Calgary is $2000.00, their GOAL is to raise $10,000.00 to help send these athletes on an amazing opportunity and memorable adventure.

Please click here to be redirected to Special Olympics Manitoba for additional information on how you or your business can help send these athletes to Calgary.

Locally please contact Jodee Webster at 204-573-3548 for any questions or further information.
